THE apartment

The Printworks began life in 1879 as the printing rooms and offices of The Hastings Observer. Sturdy and industrial, the façade was copied from a building in St Mark’s Square, complete with a Venetian balcony. Situated at the heart of the Claremont Creative Quarter, 25 metres from the beach in the historic America Ground area of Hastings.

Lorna Lloyd and Bryan Dyke became the owners of this historic property in June 2009, creating a vast, soaring multi-purpose living space in the eaves boasting a light-flooded kitchen and dining area. Two beamed guest bedrooms are light, bright with views over the surrounding roofscapes. The lower floors now house an architect’s practice, a design studio and creative hub, a bar, arts venue and gallery space and the headquarters of Dyke & Dean.

A flexible, fully equipped space that can be easily adapted to almost any use, The apartment has already been used for photographic shoots and dedicated private events, download our brochure for a full technical specification or contact Lorna Lloyd for more information.

A little piece of England’s South Coast… The building was stripped back, so far as the Grade II listing would allow, to reveal the wooden floors and central staircase and expose original brick and plaster work here and there, giving a sense of the vast spaces within.
